The 'National Association for the Advancement of Colored People' is the largest and orldest civil rights organization in the US.
It was formed in 1919 in New York City by white and Black activists, at first focusing on anti-lynching campaigns but later also played an important role during the civil rights movement. Among its founders are well known African Americans like Ida B. Wells & W.E.B. Du Bois.
