aug 1, 1815 - 1815, The Treaty of Ghent
Description:
During August of 1814 in the Belgian town of Ghent, delegates from the British and the United States arrived negotiating for an agreement to end the war of 1812. They all came to an agreement and formed a treaty that took effect starting in February of 1815. The Treaty of Ghent made most things the same way they were before the war. The treaty didn't go over established borderlines as that was left for future negotiations. Even though the First Nations were a very important part of the war and still at risk of losing land by American expansion, they weren't included in the negotiations at all. The war was a big part of multiple colonies and even though the treaty was signed by both sides and didn't change much, colonies were able to have small wins as a colony.
