mar 22, 1765 - 1765, The Stamp Act
Description:
The Stamp Act was a tax for services attached to the buying and selling of goods as well as any documents created. It is similar to a tax but it was pre-paid and done through the form of a stamp you had to purchase. The British government did this to raise their revenue so that they had more tax money to help fund other things. The Americans did not like this and were very angry because they had no representation in the British Parliament.
