may 17, 1756 - In 1756, the Seven Years' War begins
Description:
In May of 1756, the Seven Years’ War began with an outburst of fighting in Europe between France and Britain. France and Britain were fighting over land claims and control of North America and over time this started to spread across to other places such as Europe. During the war, the British navy blockaded as many French ports as they could, stopping the forces in New France from resupplying. This worked for a little bit until the year 1757 when a French fleet eluded the blockade and was able to resupply for New France. After 7 years of multiple battles happening throughout the seven years, it all was ended by the Treaty of Paris.
