Mozaffar al-Din Shah, was the man who granted another concession which would have far reaching effects in Iran. If the Englishman traded 16 percent of the profits they would name William D’Arcy the right to the majority of the oil in most of Iran. When the largest quantities of oil were discovered, the British government stepped in to become the biggest shareholders.
