Description:

The cotton gin, known as cotton engine, was invented in Georgia, Europe. Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin to speed up the process of separating the cotton fibers from their seeds to make cotton. In the machine, the cotton would be spun on rotating saws which would catch the cotton fibers that are too big to fir through the teeth of the saws. The cotton industry was thriving and still is in today's society, and the cotton gin was a major part of it.
