Description:
-Was born in Brightwater, New Zealand.
-His discovery to help the understanding of the atomic theory he postulated the nuclear structure of the atom.
-The experiment that helped him discover this was that when alpha particles are fired into gas atoms, some are denied. Which forces a dense, positively charged central region containing the majority of the atomic mass.
-An other important discovery he made was that he identified alpha particles as helium nuclei.
