-Was born in Cheetham Hill, England.-He prevailed that the atom is the smallest fundamental unit.
-The experiments he performed to prove this was using a cathode ray tube, which is a vacuum-sealed tube with a cathode and anode on one end that creates a beam of electrons travelling towards the other end of the tube.
- Thomson won the 1906 Nobel Prize in Physics, among many accolades.
