Description:

i. This overturned Plessy V. Fergusson and ruled that racial segregation of of children in public schools was unconstitutional
ii. "Separate but equal" meant that though, whites and blacks were separated, they were both equal. NAACP argued that segregation by its nature was a violation of the 14th amendment's equal protection clause.
iii. This case is seen as "The beginning of the Civil Rights Movement” because it declared "Separate but equal" really wasn't equal. It ended segregation in public schools.
