It’s rock ‘n’ roll meets classic beauty for Amber Heard’s Golden Globes look. Makeup artist Melanie Inglessis tells Pret-a–Reporter, “The dress silhouette is very feminine, her hair is a twist on a classic hairdo, so I wanted to respect all those elements whilst still honoring Amber’s personality, which is a little rock ’n’ roll.”
She created a timeless, dreamy look inspired by the colors, textures and cut of that scarlet, coral and rosy pink Gucci gown. “When I saw Amber in the dress, I thought of Grace Kelly, so I took a little inspiration from her classic beauty,” says Inglessis. The balanced look starred a bright red lip made modern with a matte finish. (She wasn’t the only starlet to stun in scarlet on Sunday night.)
Explains Inglessis, “A pop of color to match those gorgeous flowers on the dress is what I was going for. Amber loves a matte lip, so I used the [scarlet] Sisley Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick in L33 to define and fill her lip, applying it with Smith Cosmetics brush #304.” Voila, a red lip to end all red lips.
