Description:

Rised from Italy, Anastasius knews well that Diocese of Italy and Egypt were both too big, too wealthy, and too dangerous if anyone control the resources of one, thus, several themes established in Italy and Egypt; include a Papal theme as the personal property of the Patriarchater of Rome, a Spoleto Theme replace the old Duchy of Spoleto. Most of these themes except Sardinia theme and Corsica theme were more focused on administration and were ways of isolating the wealthy provinces from one another, to make a unified revolt unlikely.
