The Hammond Organ Company was the first to create a compact spring reverb effect for their organs in the 1960s. The design was so successful, it was released as a separate piece of hardware and called the ‘Accusonics Type 4 Spring Reverb’. One of the first customers to make use of this hardware was Leo Fender the founder of the Fender guitar company, he successfully installed the first Accusonics tank into a 1963 Fender Vibro amplifier.
