Description:

Miriam was sister to Moses and seen as a leader of the Israelite women. Not much is known about Miriam, outside of her brief entry into the life of the Israelites. She is presumably the sister who watched over the baby, Moses, when his mother put him in the basket in the Nile. She is also the one who led the Israelite women in song and dance after crossing the Red Sea. But not perfect, she also opposed Moses and was punished by the Lord. She did not get to enter the Promised Land.
