Description:
In mid-1962 reconnaissance planes flew over Cuba discovering there were Soviet-made missile sights under construction. This made the United States establish a naval blockade on Cuba ordering the removal of the missiles. Khrushchev ended up removing the missiles to avoid war. This would lead to the signing of a Limited Test Ban Treaty and a "hot line: connecting the White House and Kremlin to handle future crisis.
