The Watt Steam Engine is considered the most important invention of the Industrial Revolution as it led to locomotives, steam ships and factories which functioned through the use of coal. It is notable that Watt’s engine was four times as important as its predecessor, the Newcomen engine. Watt’s Steam Engine enabled for labour, production, specialisation and expansion to be performed with ease.
