Description:
Badoglio signs the armistice w/ the Allies,
his gov, in control of southern Italy, joins the Allies against the Germans,
the Germans quickly react by sending in troops into northern Italy to secure their southern flank,
they are very effective,
they create a stable defensive line (Gustav Line) and it takes a lot of effort by the Allies to brake it (e.g. the bloody battle of Monte Cassino)
