Marsha’s and sylvia were near the Stonewall Inn in the early hours of June 28, 1969. During that night, police officers raided the gay bar and began to arrest people because they were violating various discriminatory laws. A few people were fighting back but Marsha was definately at the front lines. Trans women like Marsha were particularly active during that night because they like felt they had nothing to to lose. They decided to fight back because of the pressure and all the hate they got everyday. This event is so important because it was an awakening for the entire of lGBTQ activist.
