On August 31, 2015, Zavala told Nicola Six that he had called TIFF and told organizers not to remove the Movie from the Festival, and that Heard was attempting to screen the Movie. Zavala also said that Tracy Jacobs, Depp's agent, had called TIFF and told organizers it was"OK" to keep the Movie in the Festival. Around that time, Heard and her husband Depp finally
screened the Producer's Cut when Nicola Six flew a representative to them with a copy.
