feb 1, 1869 - Basis of the Modern Periodic Table
Description:
Dimtri Mendeleev (1834-1907) would establish the basis of the modern periodic table 'Periodic System' through the arrangement of atomic weight and element type. He'd ingeniously change and leave gaps in his table for undiscovered elements in which Mendeleev would also predict certain chemical properties for those elements.
Over the next 15 years, three of Mendeleev's undiscovered elements would be found and have very accurate properties to his predictions.
