Amber Heard on... why she got involved with Magic Mike XXL

"I wanted to get involved because there is a freedom to this movie that I appreciated and the filmmakers didn't have the normal respect for following rules that you see - for some reason it's rare in this industry to meet people that don't seem bound by those rules or expectations. They just wanted to make their own movie their own way and I appreciated that! I was given a great amount of freedom with my character, they basically handed it to me and said 'we're not girls can you just make this real' so my lines, all of my character choices are mine."

Amber Heard on... being a cool girl in this movie

"They let me dress myself, they let me… like every aspect …I designed every aspect of Zoe, I made her, me! Everything from the pink hair to the jewellery was mine."

Amber Heard on... who spent longer in the make-up department

"Oh, the fellas, they win the prize - it was really interesting for once to have the women in the lunch line eating whatever they wanted, and we had all the freedom to eat all the dessert we wanted and the men were the ones who had to suffer through a diet and the spray tans. It was quite nice to see them subjected to some of the unrealistic and super high-pressured regimes that we, as women, are expected to undergo for just being a character. So it was nice to see those roles reversed."
