apr 10, 1954 - Brown v. BOE Supreme Court decision

Description:

In 1954, the case involving the case of Oliver Brown was taken all the way to the Supreme Court. They were ruling against the decision made way back in the Plessy v. Ferguson case where the Supreme Court had ruled "separate but equal" was constitutional. In this case however, the ruling was overturned stating that this was violating the 14th amendment which became a huge win for African Americans. This would start many controversies, but in the end people would integrate and unite.
