When the First and Second estates locked the Third estate out of the normal meeting place, they had to improvise. The deputies of the Third Estate decided to meet within a Tennis Court until they had produced a French Constitution. The Tennis Court Oath was historically significant because it was a big factor in the staring up of hatred towards Louis XVI, and acted as a seed for more crucial events.
