Amber Heard Says
She and Johnny Depp
Will “Avoid” Australia
After Dog Controversy
Description:
Amber Heard said she and Johnny Depp will “avoid” Australia from now on following the heated controversy over the decision to bring their dogs into the country illegally.
While promoting her new film Magic Mike XXL on Australian morning show Sunrise, Heard said, presumably in jest, that due to the politicization of the incident and the threats to put down their dogs made by local lawmakers, she and her husband would “avoid the land Down Under from now on, just as much as we can, due to certain politicians.”
She added: “I guess everyone tries to go for their 15 minutes [of fame], including some government officials.”
Heard was referring to Australia’s Minister for Agriculture Barnaby Joyce, who was most vocal in demanding that Depp’s Yorkshire terriers Pistol and Boo “bugger off back to the United States” or face being euthanized.
