Description:

In January of 1939, Liesel is traveling to a foster home when her brother dies on the train. At the funeral, she finds a book, The Grave Digger's Handbook, dropped in the snow. This is the first book she owns. When she arrives at the foster home on Himmel street, in the town of Molching,(Near Munich, Germany) she meets her foster parents, Rosa and Hans Hubermann.
Liesel often has nightmares about her brother, but her foster father, her papa, would always come in to make her feel better.
