Billy Bob
Producers Cut
Refused ADR
Description:
During February 2015, members of the London Fields cast including Amber Heard, Billy Bob Thornton and Jim Sturgess refused to complete ADR voice-over work on the Producers Cut of the film.
This followed the winter of 2014/2015 in which the London Fields Producers allege that Amber Heard began a conspiracy to prevent their version being shown to third parties or appear at film festivals following her letters of November 2014.
Johnny Depp had appeared in the film but had no further commitments to it.
Writing on the mirrors in Australia convinced both the London and Fairfax, VA Courts that Amber Heard had been filming London Fields immediately prior to her trip to Australia when in fact she had been working on The Danish Girl. However that writing covered two main issues - Amber Heard was trying to stop the film showing by claiming they contravened a nudity arrangement and, the cast - primarily Billy Bob Thornton - were uniting to support the director Matthew Cullen and prevent the Producers Cut going forward.
THE JDC suggests that Amber Heard was seeking Johnny Depp’s support of her London Fields Producer’s Cut boycott campaign - perhaps to speak out or to pay her lawyers fees or maybe even with ideas of a law suit she would need his money to pursue. The refusal to do the ADR is a big deal as it is actors breaking their contracts (leading to law suits) and if Johnny Depp understood there was no merit in her claims against the Producers this could have caused an argument during the time often referred to as Incident 8 - hence the mirrors.
