Description:
This report revealed that:
- 50% of AA men between the ages of 16 and 25 had criminal records and the gap between black people and to other groups was widening.
- Black educational achievement remained well below white levels.
- Poverty trap for numerous black people, particularly in the northern and western cities such as Washington, New York, Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles; lack of schooling, lack of training, slum living and unemployment.
- Black teens were twice as likely to be out of work as white teens.
- In the country as a while, about 1 in 10 had an income under $5000 a year but for black people it was 1 in 3.
- Average black income was now only 53% of the national average.
