mar 5, 1770 - Boston Massacre

Description:

It started with Americans protesting against the Townshend Acts. This then attracted a large crowd and the crowd was very angry. Soon, the tension between the soldiers that just came to help and the crowd was very great. The crowd was taunting and throwing objects at the soldiers. Suddenly, one of the nervous soldiers fired because he misunderstood an order and this caused a chain reaction. Several people instantly died and injured and the crowd finally dispersed. Calling it a massacre made the Americans mad. The tension between the colonists and the loyalist grew even more.
