The Parliamentarians were able to defeat the main Royalist army and capture the king's personal baggage train, which contained important documents that revealed the extent of Royalist support and plans for the war. This victory significantly weakened the Royalist cause and paved the way for the eventual triumph of the Parliamentarians. it is common to see that later down in time of the civil war we see that more victories leaning towards the Roundhead
