jan 1, 1640 - The Royalist Party
Description:
the development of the royalist party was seen to be in the 1640s as the party started then as an arrangement of overlapping the ideas of royal vs. parliament because of the action and beliefs of radicals like John Pym it posed more of a threat to parliament than to Charles. these troubling and confusing times were labelled as Constitutional royalism caused by the royalist party
the royalist party had much importance within these times as it served as a clear divide in parliament but a lot of people had mixed opinions upon this as a lot of people believed that parliament was all about the power to the people not to the elite like Charles and they feel that he shouldn't get a say within parliamentary issues but other believe that parliament should still be influenced by the king as it is there high authority as a country. so this show important to get Charles last wishes treated or tried to be brought up .
