Thomas Organ/Vox manufactured the first Cry Baby Wah Wah in 1966 but Thomas Organ/Vox failed to register the name as a trademark so Dunlop was able to use it. The Pedal was supposed to imitate a crying tone much like a muted trumpet, it also has the Wahhhh sound which is why it’s called a Wah Wah pedal.Added to timeline:
