The September 11 attacks were a series of four suicide terrorist attacks carried out by the radical Islamist terrorist organization al-Qaeda. All of the attacks happened on Tuesday morning 9/11/01. The deaths caused were 2,996 people. The terrorists hijacked four airplanes. Two were flown into the World Trade Center in New York City, a third one was flown into the Pentagon in Arlington, VA, and the fourth plane crashed in a field in Shanksville, PA.Added to timeline:
