He's making the rounds — with his stunning "female" ring! Johnny Depp joked about wearing fiancee Amber Heard's engagement ring during an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman on Thursday, April 3.

"I have a female engagement ring," Depp, 50, told Letterman, who announced the same day he's retiring from the Late Show in 2015. "Yes — it was too big for my girl," Depp confirmed again. "She is wearing the other one."

As previously reported, the Lone Ranger star first opened up about his diamond while promoting his new film, Transcendence, in Beijing on March 31. An insider told Us that Heard, 27, has since been wearing a second one that the actor gave her.

"The ring is too large for her, but it fits you perfectly," commented Letterman. Depp replied: "I think people are too scared to comment, 'Why is a grown man wearing a woman's engagement ring?'"

The Rum Diary costars got engaged in mid-January and celebrated their impending nuptials at The Carondelet House in L.A. on March 14. Though Depp has been mum about wedding details, he did shutdown the pesky rumor that the pair are expecting a child.

"Expecting what? A child? Good god, what do you think I am, a savage?" he told Today's Savannah Guthrie during a pre-taped interview Friday. "No, no truth to that. It's not a shotgun affair."

"She's a wonderful girl," he added of Heard. "She's sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me."

Depp shares daughter Lily Rose, 14, and son Jack, 11, with ex Vanessa Paradis, 41. The pair split back in June 2012 after 14 years together.
