Description:
This act created categories of immigrants that included the unmarried and married sons and daughters of U.S citizens; siblings of U.S citizens and spouses and unmarried sons and daughters of green card holders. It also included members of professions such as architects, engineers, lawyers, physicians and pretty much any skilled worker. Congress had set aside 74% of the available green cards for family members, 20% for workers and 6% for refugees.
