may 22, 1872 - Amnesty Act of 1872
Description:
Enacted May 22, 1872, it was a United States federal law that removed voting restrictions and office-holding disqualification against most of the secessionists who rebelled in the American Civil War. The south agrees with this obviously as they can now vote again, and they can collectively have what they want now. This was a step back in reconstruction, as these votes are now implementing new democratic laws.
