Description:
Federal Law defines that US citizenship and affirmed that all citizens were equally protected by the law. It was mainly intended to protect the civil rights of African-Americans, in the wake of the American Civil War. This is something that the North will agree with, primarily because of its significance to African American equality. This Act makes it so that Reconstruction is possible.
