the scots rebelled from 1937 to 1940. starting in the capital of Edinburgh a riot in 1637 quickly got out of hand and became of led national rebellion
Charles was the cause of this rebellion as he shut Scotland's voice to be heard him and also ignore the religious differences between Scotland and England Scotland was heavily Presbyterian when Charles imposed the position of the bishop towards the scots they hated and Charles didn't care so they controlled their anger collectively on him and his force religions of Laudianism
this would be the main causing factor that would made the bishop war a war which would break Charles personal rule.
