Description:

East India Company was nearly bankrupt because of the wars it had fought, so it asked Britain for aid. With this came the Regulating Act of 1773 which provided money for the company but also established a system of dual control over India between the East India Company and British government. This was the beginning of the end for the East India Company's control over India.
