jan 1, 1381 - Peace of Turin
Description:
Ends the War of Chiogga between Genoa and Venice. Despite being victorious in fighting, the war was financially disastrous for Genoa and they were forced to cede Cyprus and Treviso, as well as evacuating Tenedos, though they benefited in the Black Sea. Genoa lost the naval ascendency that the city-state had enjoyed prior to the war, and ended the long competition between Venice and Genoa. Genoese shipping was no longer seen in the Adriatic afterwards.
