sep 5, 1774 - First Continental Conference

Description:

The Continental Congress served as a government for the 13 colonies, at a time where most empires had monarchs. The Continental Congress was definitely something that was new to the world and they valued equality above all others. They were able to organize colonial resistance towards the British and unite all 13 colonies to fight against Britain. At the First Continental Conference, delegates from all 13 colonies except Georgia met up and discussed ways to resist Britain's Intolerable Acts. The Continental Congress was very important to the 13 colonies during the time of the American Revolution and the United States would not be here today if not for them.
