The U.S played a key role in the creation of Israel. After what many had seen in the Holocaust, the United Nations had decided to create a nation for the Jews in Palestine. The UN finally decided that the region of Palestine would be divided into Arab and Jewish sections. This would lead to many small wars between the Arabs and Jewish people throughout the next years.
