World War I started July 28th, 1914 and lasted until November 11th, 1918. The war started when the archduke of Austria, Archduke Franz Ferdinand, was killed. World War led to over 20 million killed and 21 million injured and involved about 32 countries. The "sides" of the war were The Allies, countries like Britain, France, Russia, Italy and the United States, and the Central Powers, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. In the end, Germany signed an armistice which makes it so The Allies won.
