jan 1, 1922 - Takao Ozawa v. United States In this court case Takao Ozawa was arguing his right to citizenship which also meant his right to vote. He had been in America for 20 years but as he was born in Japan he was still inelligeble for naturalization. This case led to all Japanese Americans being denied the right to vote
