dec 1, 1641 - Grand Remonstrance
Description:
- Anti-court consensus was crumbling
- People thought the king was reasonable and Pym was extreme
- It was a list of the King's errors in the 1630s to remind MPs of fear of a Roman Catholic conspiracy and the King's intention to make a decision
- MPs passed it -- 159 for and 148 against
- Resulted in ending the anti-court consensus and splitting parliament into two camps who opposed or supported the King.
