Description:
Mary Beth Tinker was a 13 year old Junior in High School, she and a group of students decided to protest the war in Vietnam by wearing black armbands to school. Once the school realized what was going on they passed a preemptive ban. Her and 4 other students were suspended and couldn’t return unless they took off the armbands. This resulted in a 4 year court battle.
