oct 6, 1908 - The Annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina
Description:
The Austro-Hungarian government made the bold yet foolish move to annex Bosnia and Herzegovina. Serbia was incredibly bitter especially when Russia's attempt to rectify the situation failed. "...It permanently damaged the relationship between Russia and Serbia on the one hand and Austria-Hungary on the other." (1) We can assume this was one of the main events that fueled the assassination of the Archduke in 1914.
