Paul Revere was hired to send messages from Boston. On the night of April 18, 1775, Revere rode to Lexington to warn Adams and Hancock that British troops were on their way to arrest the two men. The Midnight Ride proves that the Sons of Liberty were prepared for conflict with the British and possible violence. There are common inaccuracies to this event: Prescott and Dawes also rode and Prescott was the only one to finish the ride.Added to timeline:
