dec 16, 1773 - The Boston Tea Party

Description:

The Boston Tea Party was a protest by American colonists in Boston, Massachusetts, against the British monarchy. Colonists dumped an ample supply of tea, imported by the British East India Company, into the harbor to protest taxation without representation. At this point during the road to revolution, colonists were upset by their continued tax by the British monarchy without having representation in the British parliament. The Boston Tea Party was the American colonist's first major act of defiance against the British monarchy.
