Hitler met with Hindenburg, who had heard rumours that von Schleicher (Former Chancellor of the German Reich until 1932) had met with Rohm.

Hindenburg threatened to declare martial law and hand over the government to the army. This would have meant the end of all Hitler’s dreams and hard work – it just couldn’t happen!
