jan 1, 1676 - Bacon Rebellion
Description:
The Rebellion started because the backcountry of Virginia was in the territory of the Native Americans. This meant that the residents were mostly being attacked by Natives. Bacon was anger with Berkeley because he as the governor wasn't doing anything to protect his people. Berkeley wanted to keep the little peace he had Native Americans, but it didn't last because of Bacon. This is what caused Bacon to burn down Jamestown. Little did he know, that his rebellion will cause the separation between white and black people. The rich white people realized that poor whites and black people were powerful together and could overthrow the government.
