Description:
British Victory over an inexperienced American Militia. Occurred in New York. Most of the British forces in this battle were loyalists or part of the iroquois tribe. The main leaders in this battle were Joseph Brant (British), John Hathorn (U.S.), and Benjamin Tusten (U.S.). Joseph Brant was injured in combat and Benjamin Tusten was killed.
